this summer some girls in the program and i are dancing together up in north philly.  we're hoping to create and be able to show some work and they are such beautiful movers! excited does not even come close to how i'm feeling about this. this has been such a long time coming.

this morning was the first bridging the gaps internship meeting.  our main project for the summer is coordinating a community garden for the senior center and neighborhood.  i could not be more excited! this is exactly what i was hoping to be a part of here in philadelphia!   hopefully next spring the overgrown, abandoned lot will look something along the lines of this:

on another note: my nana pulled out a box of old, old photos.  if youre on facebook, you might like looking at the old outfits, hairstyles, and history that are in an album.  she's letting me come back during the summer to look through the entire box....!!!

raindrops and gumdrops

JoJo showed Carolyn and I a picture of an umbrella installation in Vegas.  Umbrellas make me happy, the colors, the shape, the way water just rolls right off them....mmmmmmm.  I like that people are being creative with umbrellas.  It's about time they were seen as something other than a functional accessory.

Look at this umbrella tree (omygosh, i forgot about that show!!)

if anyone is thinking about umbrella art.....you've found someone who'd appreciate it!

made my Summer-to-do-list yesterday.
on it, find fabric to make curtains and pick blueberries,
among numerous other things that make my insides fizz and crackle like fireworks because today is the first day of june!
Its been years since i've gone blueberry picking with my dad . its time.
